In the beginning there was everything, at once, in one form. The All could not be contained in one shell, and thus was rent in two. Order and Chaos, Light and Shadow, Good and Evil. Each are necessary to maintain the Universal Balance.
Guardians are the higher beings of Light: angels, gods, goddesses and spirits who embody good. Shadow beings are the Fallen: spawns of Chaos who fought in the First Battle– the upper echelon demons, gods and goddess who sow discord and chaos. Both Light and Shadow use Avatars in order to have a physical presence in this dimension.
Most beings fall in the middle of the Universal Balance, not born good or evil but able to slide either way. This assortment includes humans, most mythical creatures, and even some beings that humans would consider evil like vampires, were-creatures, the fae. Most of these mythical creatures are hybrid offspring of those Light and Shadow beings who’ve made their homes in this dimension. While most just want their own little corner to call home, others want more, and that’s where the Shadowchasers come in.
CAST OF CHARACTERS
KIRA SOLOMON
Age: 26 (estimated)
Height: 5’8″
Place of Birth: Unknown
Occupation: Freelance antiquities specialist by day. Shadowcaser by night.
Kira Solomon prefers being surrounded by antiquities to being in a crowd of people. Layers of leather, emotional armor and custom-made gloves help her keep people at arm’s length, yet does nothing to warm the chill in her heart. Place of Birth: Unknown
Occupation: Head of the Gilead Commission
No one knows much about the woman known as the Balm of Gilead, only that Balm has always been. Despite’s Balm’s efforts, Kira’s temperament proved more suited to Shadowchasing.
NANSEE
Age: Unknown

December 6, 2011 at 6:49 pmAs a follower of LA Banks, it was nice to pick up a book similar but different and by a black woman author. I just finished “Shadow Blade” in one day and was upset with the ending, because I felt it left me hanging-then I Google you and realized there are two more books(I will be purchasing very soon). It was a great book and I can’t wait to read the next two-Thank you!

February 22, 2012 at 10:27 pmAt the moment, there is no publisher for for the Shadowchasers series. So, I’m going to take them independent. I am currently working on the fourth book, SHADOW HUNT, and hope to have something out before the end of the year.
Not only am I slow writer, but I also want my first independent book to be the very best that it can be. I’m also hoping ot have a short story available that wraps up the last book and kicks off the next set of stories. It will be posted here on the website for free, so please stay tuned.
Also, thanks so very much for your interest in my stories. I really appreciate the support!

March 28, 2012 at 7:46 pmSeressia,
I just finished reading L. A. Banks last book and was a little upset to see that there aren’t any other Black Authors out there but when I sit down and look over the book from the front to the back I found the web site pocketafterdark, to my surprise there you were. I am going to purchase your books tomorrow and will wait for your next book to come out. I am a screenwriter and I love the books L. A. Banks wrote. Well, the Vampire Huntress series and the last two, Surrender the Dark and Conquer the Dark. I didn’t care for the werewolves I don’t know why but I can say this now that I’ve found you I am going to see just how much I enjoy yours. I see where Antoinette Carroll is a L. A. Banks fan and she loves your work therefore I know I will love it as well. I know you’re in one of her books and thats great. I look forward to checking out your works and coming back to express to you just how I really feel. Keep up the work and please don’t stop writing.

October 4, 2012 at 5:57 pmI can’t wait to catch up with Kira. I miss her. I got my 68 yr old mother started, and she doesn’t read fiction. She is craving some Kira too. How are things coming? Your probably almost done, but one idea I had for a character is a Persian/Zorastrian character. I’ve read a little and am kinda interested. Good Luck, I’m sure we’ll love whatever you come up with.

Thanks for stopping by! I have started writing on SHADOW HUNT. I’d hope to have it self published and out by the end of the year, but it looks like it will be early next year instead. I will definitely keep you posted on my progress!
