My Sexy Saturday #115: Something About Sexy

Hello, and welcome to my stop on this week’s My Sexy Saturday Blog Hop! This week’s theme is Something About Sexy and I can’t think of anything sexier than this excerpt from SUGAR, in which Siobhan owes Charlie a thirty-second apology kiss. Anyone can give a kiss, but Siobhan is going to introduce Charlie to her alter ego, burlesque performer Sugar Malloy. By the time she’s done, he’ll be the apologizing to her!

Enjoy these seven paragraphs from Sugar, coming November 3rd!

As he watched, she danced back to the desk and sat down on the edge. The way she kicked her legs and smiled at him bludgeoned his brain cells, erasing all higher thought. Posing sexily, she slid both hands down each thigh and opened the snaps holding her stockings, then undulated her way out of the lacy belt-thing circling her waist. Next came the stockings, rolled down her beautiful legs one by one.

Then she did a shoulder shake, and her bra straps fell down her arms. He was panting now; he knew it, like a dog after a female in heat, especially when she reached for the front clasp holding her bra closed. Her gaze locked to his as she held her bra to her breasts, then she opened it and let it fall to the floor.

Pasties. Bright blue sparkly pasties covered her nipples and areolae, but dear God, her full breasts sat up proudly and moved like they were real. They bounced as she sprang to her feet, stuck her thumbs into the waistband of her panties and did a heart-stopping shimmy that dropped the lacy fabric to her feet, leaving her in what he realized was a flesh-colored G-string. As the music reached a crescendo, she straddled his lap and entwined her arms around his neck. His dick surged against his zipper as her heat settled onto his lap.

He didn’t know where to look—at the full breasts pressed against his chest, the nude-colored thong that barely hid her pussy, or the bright blue eyes that gazed at him with lust, pride, and a hint of vulnerability.

“I’m sorry,” he said thickly once he remembered how to speak. “For everything I’ve done up to this point and everything coming after. I’m sure as hell sorry that I didn’t try harder to learn what you wear under your clothes.”

Her husky laugh bounced her tits and brushed her thong-covered mound against his zipper. He gritted his teeth, still not touching her though he burned with the need to run his hands up her waist to her beautiful breasts. Good things came to those who waited, right?

She sank her hands into his hair. “Apologies accepted. Now be a good boy and hold still for your thirty-second kiss.”

My Sexy Saturday #113: All About Sexy

SUGARWelcome to my entry for My Sexy Saturday #113. The theme is all about the sexy, and I think you’ll agree that this seven sentence snippet from my upcoming novel, SUGAR, is all about that!

“It’s like you’re hypnotizing me, putting me under some kind of spell.”

“Really?” He turned her hand over, tracing his fingers over the staccato beat of her pulse. “Does your pulse start racing? Do you feel as if you’ve just ran as far as you could for as long as you could and your heart’s threatening to burst out of your chest? Do you feel like there’s a static charge building up along your skin, and all it will take is one small touch to set off sparks?”

“Yes,” she breathed, her heart pounding at the branding touch of his fingers.

My Sexy Saturday: My Sexy Girlfriend

SUGARCharlie O’Halloran knows he’s got one very sexy girlfriend. When she’s not running her cafe, she performs burlesque as Sugar Malloy. Here, the morning after his birthday celebration, he’s thinking about how sweet his life truly is. Enjoy these seven sentences from SUGAR, book two of the Sugar and Spice series, coming November 3rd!

Charlie watched Siobhan sleep, so deeply peaceful he didn’t want to awaken her. Sunlight spilled through the large window, flowing across the bed. It caressed her golden hair, giving her a halo. His angel. His goddess. She was everything he hadn’t dared hope for, everything he’d dreamed of those few times when he could push aside the guilt of wanting something for himself. Someone for himself, who’d take care of him for a change.

Sons of Anubis – a Brief History

** Please tune in every Friday for a new blog post about my Sons of Anubis series from Harlequin’s Nocturne Bites!**

The Sons of Anubis are jackal shapeshifters—they have a human form and a jackal form. Millennia ago, the god Anubis called jackals from the grasslands beyond the Great Western Desert and imbued them with his power, giving them the ability to assume human form and charging them to aid him in his duties as lord of the underworld.

Helping them do this were the Daughters of Isis. For thousands of years they worked together, lived together. Some even loved together. Then the witches betrayed the jackals, and an unending war thus began.

Markus has led his jackals across the world for thousands of years, always vigilant, always ready to defend his clan. When a fatal curse strikes those he holds dear, he will do everything in his power to prevent another death.

From chapter one of Seducing the Jackal:

The Daughters of Isis used to collaborate with the Sons of Anubis to protect the funerary temples and complexes and prevent the dead from returning to the land of the living. Some of the dead didn’t know the spells to make it through the Weighing of the Heart ceremony and on to the Field of Reeds. Some simply didn’t want to go through the trials in the Underworld or were afraid that their souls would be fed to Ammit the Devourer. Still others lost their way or coveted what they’d left behind: life.

Regardless of the reason, some of the dead returned and in the journey back to the land of the living became darker, more evil: the Lost Ones.

When the dead rose from the sands as undead, the Sons of Anubis were called to action. The Daughters of Isis would empower them, weave spells to protect them and, after battle, heal them. When possible, they returned the Lost Ones to their graves and tombs so they wouldn’t be forgotten. Otherwise they were destroyed and became as dust.

That was then, a glorious work lost in the sands of time. Now all the Isis witches seemed to do was find inventive ways to kill jackals. Markus bared his teeth. No more. Tonight the witches would learn the meaning of fear. Tonight a Daughter of Isis would become a prisoner of the Sons of Anubis.

Markus carried his unconscious prize out of the house and over the back fence in less than two minutes. A quick dash through the wooded lot to the waiting van, and they were on their way.

Only when he had received word that the rest of his men were safely out did Markus allow himself to relax. So far, so good. The most dangerous part of the mission was complete.

“You think this will work?” asked Hector.

Markus knew his second in command didn’t doubt the mission. No one questioned him in that regard; he’d proven his ability to lead centuries ago. Hector’s blood brother was one of the afflicted, in the first stages of a debilitating illness that had cost the lives of four jackals so far. Markus swore there wouldn’t be a fifth, and this witch would guarantee it.

“It will.” Confidence loaded his words. “She’s a Daughter of Isis. One of them cast the curse. She’ll break it.”

“What if she doesn’t?”

“Then we’ll use her as bait to trap another witch.” He leaned forward on the jump seat. “One way or another, we’ll end this curse. I don’t care if we have to trap every Isis witch in the northern hemisphere to do it. We do whatever it takes.”

He held up his fist. “For Sons and brothers.”

Hector tapped it with his own. “For Sons and brothers.”

Coming next week: more about Markus Anapa, the leader of the Sons of Anubis. Also, another excerpt!

Being Social for the Anti-Social

shy girl

Yet another great meeting with the Georgia Romance Writers. Today we had the always fantabulous Delilah S. Dawson talking about social media. I submit that social media is not my forte. I enjoy tweeting and posting to Facebook. It suits my magpie attention span.  “SQUIRREL!”

Okay, so where was I?  Anyway, I’m not the brightest bulb in the hall when it comes to being social, even online. Luckily Delilah was able to set me straight on some things, and then Anna DeStefano and Alicia McCalla kicked me in the e-pants.

So yeah, now I know that I not only have a reader shelf on Goodreads, but also an Author Page that has pulled quite a bit from my quiet little website. So I’m going to hopefully take control of it and give you guys updated info there. And since I’ve come to grips with the facts that blog postings don’t have to be so sparkly amazing and full of knowledge from on high (which mine never were) I feel okay wiht posting short snippets here and there.

Look for at least one new blog post a week, probably on Mondays, and probably about what has inspired me regarding my writing. Or something about Ancient Egypt. Or both.
